How much!

Price - ouch!

Bloody norra, all their kit is very pricey. I might have to put my prices up.
It looks the old Sutler's Store kit.

Yes,  somewhat  of a markup,  considering  it's a Toad Shako's job he used to make for Sutler's  and they  only cost 160 from him direct.

I'd say 90%  of his stuff  is asian made imports and about 3 times the actual price  of  it.

I particularly like the buff coat... lovely bit  of suede.
Obadiah

I'm not sure that it is a cap from Toad Shako's. He now blocks his caps and uses our cap badge, where this beauty is hand made using buckrum and woolcloth.

It's  one  of the early  ones he made before I encouraged him  to  block  them properly in felt.

The clothing pics are largely old images from  now defunct Sutlers Store. As used by half of Asia to promote kit they don't want to photograph themselves.

Agreed,  mostly looks  like Depeeka items  either  ordered directly or from the German company who wholesale it out to others.

I'm not saying  Mel makes the shako's for the  shop in the original post,  but that he used to  make them for Sutlers when they were around.  That's why I think the picture was of his hat, taken off the Sutler's website.

I thought it was one of Toad's. One hell of a mark up on his prices if it is!

If I'm not mistaken the price has now dropped from around 325 to 199. Perhaps originally a pricing error but they are still quite a lot.

Depends how you look at  it.

Realistically a shop  should be looking at somewhere between 30% and 100%  markup on  it's  purchase  price.

Most  re-enactment manufacturers don't do  a wholesale  price so  effectively they become  one and the same thing.

You could go into a whole topic on what should  be real  pricing for making  reenactment gear,  but  few would  like what they discover... Cost  price X2 is Wholesale   Wholesale  X2  is retail.

Nice markup if you can get  it though !!

Your average 20 asian items  only costs about  7 to  buy  in in most cases.
