2nd 95th Facebook Page

For those of you interested, the 2nd have started up a public Facebook page (as opposed to their old group page). Many thanks to Kieran for instigating that.

I've been meaning to ask why have we moved pages?
Paul Durrant

Ben,
Our original one was a 'group' page so apparently you were invited or had to ask to see it. This is now just a page - so anyone interested can browse it straight away and view anything on it.

(I think that's how Kieran explained it to me)

Oh right I'm not to up on the whole facebook groups/pages.
Billfred

I didn't see the point tbh.

We knew you wouldn't - that's why we did it...

LOL. There are a few other reasons. Groups don't allow you to use the photo synchronization feature that will be a major feature of the new website, nor do they allow you to post onto members newsfeeds. Additionally, with a page we are now able to analyse our page members engagement and demographics.

For instance I can now tell you that 34% of our followers are males age 35-54 and that they are most interested in our photos from Waterloo. This sort of information could potentially be very useful for our publicity and recruitment material.

Does this mean that I should moderate my facebook button pushing in case it reflects badly on the 2nd/95th  Smilie_PDT
